Welcome Message
Greetings from the Indian Rocks Beach Rotary Club!
We are very proud of our club, and what we have accomplished since 1998. This web site will educate you on what Rotary is all about, the kinds of things that we do, and how our club meshes with other clubs, and spreads our work all over the world.
To begin with, all Rotarians abide by the these provisions:
THE FOUR WAY TEST OF THE THINGS WE THINK, SAY, OR DO:
First Is it the truth?
Second Is it fair to all concerned?
Third Will it build good will and better friendships?
Fourth Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace throughout world.
Over 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located in 168 countries.
The main objective of Rotary is service---in the community, in the workplace and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, reliable drinking water, the environment, illiteracy and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers and other professionals and vocational career development. Rotary's motto is 'SERVICE ABOVE SELF'.
Rotary Clubs around the world encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and in particular:
- The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service,
- High ethical standards in business and professions,
- The recognition of the worldliness of all useful occupations,
- The dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society,
- The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business and community life,
- The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
Our dynamic club, chartered in July 1998, is dedicated to the ideals of
our parent organization, Rotary International. Throughout
the last eight years, we have supported local, statewide and worldwide
projects
with funds
raised in our community. We are grateful to the citizens of Indian
Rocks Beach and Pinellas
county for their ongoing support and we will continue our efforts
to uphold the ideals of Rotary.
Our club's motto is 'SERVICE ON THE ROCKS'.
We encourage anyone who would like to consider serving your local
and international communities, to contact us for more information
or simply
link into the
Rotary International website from our home page. There are many
more people needing
help than providing it. You can make a difference in someone's
life!
The 35 members of the ROTARY CLUB OF INDIANS ROCKS BEACH, welcome you to our web site!
Welcome,
Tom Hafner, President
